Shalyah: And I Am Telling You, I'm Not Going:
comments: Good Lord, I am so sick of this damned song. Seems like every Diva Wannabe does this one. No way as good as JHud, and far too young for the material. A child her age singing "You're the best man I'll ever know".... puh-leeze. Get out of your diapers first, honey. Then we'll talk about this guy being the best you'll ever know. Thank goodness she's in the death spot because this one's been on my nerves for weeks. If I have my way, yes... you'll be going.

Adam & Alisan: Angel From Montgomery:
comments: This was a wonderful pairing of voices and if neither wins, I would highly recommend they go on tour as a duo. A real shame the duets aren't available for purchase.
Paxton: I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That):
comments: No... just no. Adam, Alisan or maybe even Laith could pull this one off, but not him. Shit, even Shalyah might have managed this one better (and we all know how I feel about her).

Laith: One and Only:
comments: Wow. Just wow. I'll be buying this one. AND he managed to do the performance without clenching his butt cheeks! Kinda glad because there's no way I'd be able to get through the Christmas holidays thinking that Santa needed to clench his ass to hit the high notes. ^_~

* The Thrill is Gone returned at 169 and as of this writing is at 119.
** We've Got Tonight returned at 136 and is sitting in 101.
***Overnight Make It Rain reappeared at 188.
Bryan & Mary Sarah: Break Free:
comments: Surprisingly decent. I was thinking this would be a better fit for his voice because of the genre. Maybe it's because Ariana has a nasally voice that Mary Sarah managed to pull her part off?
Alisan: Desperado:
comments: This song fit her like a glove. Very nice. This show can't end fast enough for me tonight so I can get this bought (gotta make certain the purchase counts towards the votes, ya know). Will this one be enough to stop that slight slide she's had the last couple weeks?

*Let Him Fly returned at 172 and as of this posting is at 124.
** Blue Bayou came back at 153.
*** Cryin came back and is sitting at 200.
Hannah & Laith: Knock on Wood:
comments: Laith and disco? Shouldn't have worked, but it was fun. Glad this wasn't his competition song though.
Adam: I'm Sorry:
comments: I'm with Pharrell with this one. It seems like Adam isn't competing, but just coming out to share a couple minutes with us each week. It's been this way since the very first day we saw him on the show. Was this my favorite performance of his? Not really. But I'll be buying this later, because it's an Adam recording.

** Tennessee Whiskey also made a return and is at 159.
Bryan: Hurt:
comments: This did nothing for me this week. Then again, I'm not fond of the song in general anyhow.

Paxton & Shalyah: Masterpiece:
comments: No, just no.
Mary Sarah: I Told You So:
comments: Aw shit. This was a very excellent choice for her voice. I might just have to buy this one this week.

Hannah: When a Man Loves a Woman:
comments: This was awful. Exorcism on aisle 3 please! She needs to be glad she had the pimp spot.

Analysis: If Justin Timberlake hadn't dropped his song from the upcoming Trolls movie this week, I suspect one of our contestants would have seen the first place spot this time around. Some of the hardest things to beat in sales are new albums from A-Listers, an A-Lister's "Song of the Summer", or the death of a musical icon.
The biggest increase this week went to Paxton with a 22 spot leap. I doubt that this will help, though, unless his fans created endless email accounts to vote from. The big huge increase hasn't really helped anyone so far once they got past the meddling judges rounds (and even then the only one that benefited was this dude because Blake just HAD to keep him in the competition). Besides, he was in the bottom 2 that had to sing last week and that hasn't boded well for any of the contestants this season.
In sales this week, we saw 6 of the 8 in the Top 10 of the sales chart. The other 2 didn't even make it into the Top 20 and as such I don't really see them getting through to next week unless there's a huge miracle in the alternate voting methods.
Adam and Alisan leading the pack with 2nd and 3rd respectively on the Top 200. I feel very confident to say that of the Top 8, these two are the most likely to breeze through to next week. I will be very shocked if either has to sing for their spot or if either one doesn't go through.
Paxton and Shalyah were in the bottom of the barrel with 28th and 71st spots respectively. Unless there's a huge glitch or miracle, I don't see these two going through. I will be shocked if they do. Both have been hovering around the bottom of the pack for weeks now. Really surprised that either has lasted this long.
I see the fight for the 3rd and 4th spot coming down between Hannah (5th), Mary Sarah (6th), Bryan (7th) and Laith (10).
I haven't really liked Hannah for weeks now. I think the only thing that saved her this week was that pimp spot. Someone over there is bound and determined to keep Pharrell in this race. I don't know why. They didn't do it the other seasons. If it's an effort to keep this from being a Blake vs Adam showdown, they needent bother because I'm very sure Christina will have a horse in this race right up and to the end.
Mary Sarah has been a likeable contestant all along and has decent performances all season. Just, not exactly my cuppa tea kinda performances. It's the old country throw back sound that keeps her from being one of my favorites. That is until last week's performance, which was spot on, and then to follow it up with this week's song. She's peaking at the right moment and can be a real contender to the 2 up front. They need to watch this one.
Bryan is okay. I find him rather bland and generic most times. The last couple performances really did nothing for me at all. If we could package his looks and voice, then add Paxton's charisma and showmanship on top of it all... we'd have a real winner. It won't be too much of a surprise if he doesn't go through. If he DOES though, it'll be because they're afraid the fans will have a stroke if there's no AAF/AAM in the final rounds.
I've liked Laith since day one. Not in a "I'd tolerate massive crowds of people in a huge concert" kinda way, but more along the lines of "I'd venture out to a small bar to watch him perform" way. Will I get his albums? Most assuredly. Do I think he's a winner in this format? Not so much. I'm 50/50 with this one. I'd be surprised if he goes through to next week, but I won't be too disappointed if he doesn't. I think he's pretty much run his course here and he got what he needed from it. Exposure for his other albums.
Of the 4 we just looked at, I'd rather see Mary Sarah and Laith go through. However, I won't be terribly surprised if either of the other 2 sneak into next week's show.
Wouldn't it be funny if the duet pairings turned out to be how they really ended up this week? Adam & Alisan in the Top 4 joined by either Bryan & Mary Sarah OR Hannah & Laith (the latter pairing being the least likely of the 2 options), with Paxton & Shalyah definitely going home?

That would be funny if the final four matched up to the duets from last night.
LMAO!! And they DID!
